We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of carpentry techniques, including all aspects of 1st/2nd fix, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently and accurately. Work to tight deadlines and work well with other trades on site.
Your place of work will be in and around the Redditch area.
We’ll need you to be able to:
Construct, install, and repair various wooden structures, including framing, flooring, walls and staircases.
- Install doors, windows, cabinets, flooring and other interior fixtures.
- Build custom furniture and kitchen units
Material Preparation:
- Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials according to blueprints and specifications.
- Prepare materials for assembly, including sanding, planning, and finishing.
Tool Usage:
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including saws, drills, routers, and sanders.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Site Work:
- Work on construction sites, following safety regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure smooth project completion.
Quality Control:
- Inspect work for accuracy and adherence to building codes and regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve construction issues.
- Use of a tablet to sign in/out of jobs, Take arrival/completion photos and update Management and office staff of any issues while on site.
- May need to help with other trades as and when required.
- Works are nationwide so travel and occasional stays away from home will be required. This will be kept to a minimum where possible.
Experience / knowledge:
- Previous experience working in the insurance industry, or complaint support, ideally a minimum of 2 years.
- Proven experience as a carpenter or in a related field.
- Strong carpentry experience in framing, finishing, and cabinetry.
- Previous cleaning experience
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.

- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Problem-solving: Ability to think critically and find solutions to construction challenges.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Communication: Effective communication skills to work with clients, contractors, and team members.
